Tap-to-Mine

Tap-to-Mine

Tap-to-mine apps typically ask users to open an app, start a session or perform lightweight actions while a displayed balance grows. That experience is not the same thing as running Bitcoin proof-of-work on a phone, so understanding the reward mechanism is essential.

Questions we ask

  • Is the balance a blockchain asset, an internal points balance or a token?
  • What starts the earning session and what ends it?
  • Are KYC, referrals or activity requirements involved?
  • Can withdrawals reach an external wallet, and can transactions be verified?
  • What does the developer say about the underlying mechanism?

Why the distinction matters

“Mining” can be used as product language even when the economic model is closer to rewards or engagement. We do not treat the label as proof. Where a project has not demonstrated an on-chain asset or conventional mining activity, we state the limitation clearly.
